Please Help!!! I have had Fergie for about 6 months. He is two years old and is nutered. My problem is that he barks at everything! People walking by outside, my roommate, everything. This morning at 4:30AM he started barking at someone who started their car! I have tried the can, a firm "NO" and three barking collers. I don't know what to do. Please lwt me know of anything that has worked for you
DISCUSSION:
As soon as he bark you tell him no in firm tone of voice and be patient it take time. The next step is get a can of water spray and spray it on his face every time he bark. That might help.

I have heard that putting a drop of lemon juice in their mouth immediately after they bark works. You have to tell him the same thing (such as Hush or No Bark) everytime. They really don't like the flavor, and he will eventually make the connection. Good Luck!!!

I've used the "growling method" a couple of times and it seems to work. When you tell Fergie "NO BARK!" use a low gutteral growling voice. Then when he stops, praise him with your normal voice. Good luck!

We have a shop and Taffy barks at customers when they pull up. Yesterday I tried the "growling method" and it worked! She was up in the chair barking, and I said "Taffy! "and I growled", stop! She looked at me, started to bark, so I growled again, and she quit. When I went to her to praise her, she actually got down on the floor and rolled over on her back at my feet!! I am so glad I read about this method here!
