My 3 month old girl "Sammy" gets a bath about twice a week. At her last bathing I noticed dark patches on her skin. The spots are on her head, ears, and back. Is this a normal pigmentation process or something for me to be concerned about? Thanks for your help.

From what I read they are like having freckles. There are some good articles on this in the archives. Are puppies are so special to us , I remember how concerned I was about what they were.

Nothing to worry about. Most Maltese have these "freckles."

I know how you feel, but our Little Andy has the same pigment changes around his groin... I guess it's common.
