maltese - cushing's syndome
My maltese has just been diagnosed with cushing's syndrome. Does anyone
know how this will effect my dog--symptoms, treatment etc...-tully ward
- Cushings disease is most common in poodle, dachsunds, boxers, and boston
terriers, but can affect any breed. Most of the time it is caused by an over
active pituitary gland, but can also be caused by a tumor. If a tumor,
removal is recomended, if only an over active gland, medication is used.
Symptoms include: increased thirst, urination, and appetite. Hairloss,
weakness, and lethargic behavior. When treated properly their prognosis is
good. A blood test will diagnose Cushings. Hope I helped some.
