Teeth loss...
by Jim & Bob
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Listers,Our Poulenc is 16 weeks old. We have acclimated him to regular teeth brushing. It appears that his molars are adult teeth. Can this be? They have been there for the last couple of weeks, and don't appear to be fully in place. Are these his adult teeth? I am very curious. I am sure that the small frontal teeth will be lost and replaced shortly, but these molars...are they baby teeth too?
Comments appreciated..

DISCUSSION:
I tried to observe how Spunky's adult teeth came in but it was hard for me to tell, except for those needle-like front puppy teeth. From the amount of chewing Spunky did at a young age, I think the molars came in pretty soon. So I wouldn't be surprised if what you see is the adult teeth. I think they generally have all their adult teeth by 6 months.

P.S. If you do a search in the archives for the phrase "adult teeth" you will find lots of interesting posts! Maybe try "baby teeth" too. I really love this site. Unfortunately I did not have access to the "net" until a few months ago so I had to go through Spunky's puppyhood without all this great information and support.
