Update - baby teeth loss
by Linda R.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
In the 8 days since I posted my question regarding loss of baby teeth and taking them out during neutering, Bailey has lost 6 teeth!! We have a month to go before the surgery...no quarentee he'll continue at this rate, however, at least he won't be tootheless and maybe won't even need any pulled!! I am feeling better about this (did not want to postpone the neutering). Thanks everyone for your comments.
DISCUSSION:
That's great! Quigley was neutered Tuesday, had his umbilical hernia fixed, 2 baby teeth removed, and his tear ducts checked. We picked him up that afternoon, he was so miserable, then all of a sudden last night he was back to his old self. They tell you to keep them quiet and not to let them jump, I'm doing my best but it is not and easy task. I have to make him go to bed and force rest periods on him, of which he hasn't minded yet.

Hi my name is Tracey. I'm new to this site.Just a reply to your baby teeth. My maltese is 6 1/2 months old. She is just now losing her baby teeth. I had to take 4 out yesterday. Orion had to be spayed at 3 months old and do emergency surgery for strangulated unbilical hernia. It seems to be normal for this kind of surgery... Is this normal for Maltese to loose there teeth so late in life? much appropriation for any answers on this. Orion is also very tiny she not yet 3 pounds.
