Moms little secret (Shhh)
by Debbie Biancardi
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Moms little secret (Shhh)I just wanted to share a story with you that I think you will get a kick out of.I have been married to a wonderful man for 20 years. He is truely a gift from God to me.One problem...He is a total clean fanatic.Drives me nuts!He is extremely paticular about his food. All of our friends know to NEVER touch his food or even ask for a bite!He even gets his own separate dip dish.(Hates double dippers.)Ok so you get the picture.

Both of our kids,Ike and Tina sleep with us every night. Before my husband comes to bed he gets himself a glass of water and puts it on our nightstand that is attached to our bed.(He has bad sinus problems.)Drinks the water in the middle of the night if he gets thirsty.Well guess who also drinks out of his glass???I have seen both of my babies get up and simply walk over, take a few licks and go back sound asleep.I don't dare tell my husband. He would just die if he knew. I just lay in bed quietly, with a big ole smile, and say to myself "GOOD BABIES!!"

DISCUSSION:

Deb, thats a great story. My Buster does that to hubby's soda cup when he leaves it in the living room. He would die if he knew Buster did that. He gets so mad at me when I let Buster drink out of my glass. Ha! Our Secret!

That is sooo cute and funny!

Debbie, I'm sure Ike and Tina think that Daddy brings the water for them. After all, why should they have to inconvenience themselves if they get thirsty at night! We have some habits which drive our Daddy crazy. I always tell my girls that what Daddy doesn't know won't hurt him. |:)

That is so funny. I wouldn't tell him either. Your babies probably figure that the glass of water was put there just for them. How cute!!!

Debbie: What a cute story. My husband is not as bad as yours but he is very picky about his food and drink around the babies. I let Pete and Mr. Bo drink out of my glass and he thinks I am crazy. He loves your babies but to him they are dogs and to me they are little humans. I'll keep your secret and give the little ones a hugs for me.

That's funny Debbie I have to admit I'm just like your husband. It drives my friends crazy! I make allowances for Lalita. If I was told that I would be letting a dog kiss me, or giving a dog kisses two years ago I would have told the person that they had lost their minds I had dogs & cats in the past but never any as affectionate as my little Lalita. If your ever read your post he would be in for a suprise.

That is so funny. I couldn't stop laughing. If that was me I probably wouldn't say anything either. That would be my good laugh of the day when it happens. Just keep it secret between you and your babies. Shhhhhhhhhhh.

Oh Deb, I knew the rest of the story as soon as you said your hubby takes a glass of water to bed. Soooo cute. Don't worry, your secret is safe with us.

Debbie, that is waaaaayyyyy too funny! I giggled and giggled. I can see Cubbie doing that too. I have a funny story too, only it is about our cat Jody, who has since gone to Rainbow Bridge. Once, I got up in the middle of the night to go potty. I heard my husband saying in his sleep something like this "go on Jody, go on Jody", he was muttering this, so I had a hard time understanding. I flipped on the light, and there was the big fat cat (he weighed 20 lbs) sitting on top of my husband's bald head (I kid you not), coughing up a FUR BALL! I couldn't stop laughing. I woke hubby up, and told him not to move. Then I ran and got a rag to clean up the fur ball. Isn't that gross and hysterical at the same time! We have wild times at our house! So far, Cubbie has behaved in bed......except for the time he poopied.

Debbie - That is tooooo funny. I promise I won't tell!

That is so funny. My husband is the exact same way. And of course the babies think the water is for them. It is probably best to keep it a secret between you and the fur babies. Besides, if maltese germs could hurt you, I would have been dead a long time ago.

To cute Debbie, I'll never tell! What he doesn't kow won't hurt him.

Debbie and Felicia - I love those stories! Reminds me of Rastus (now gone to Rainbow Bridge) who was in danger of turning into a wino in his youth! I lived in a shared house in my early twenties and we used to have parties every weekend, everyone sat on the floor drinking cask wine. Guess who used to go from glass to glass sampling everyone's drink? Didn't seem to have any effect on him either!

Debbie, That's too funny!!! Taffy and I have just an itty bitty secret too from Daddy. One evening during dinner in the living room, Daddy left his glass of milk while going in the kitchen for seconds. Next thing I knew Miss Taffy was lapping milk from the glass! I whispered, "down", and decided that rather him know, we would have it be our little secret too!! It's actually not her fault, because at night before going to bed, I give Taffy a special drink of water out of a glass :) They are just adorable, aren't they?

Debbie & Felicia, those stories are so so so funny! It's taken me all afternoon to read this thread - between interruptions (doesn't everyone know I'm not to be interrupted while in MalteseOnly??? So WHAT if I'm at work???). What a great laugh I've had.

That is an adorable story...I can just see it all now. Wait till the day he catches them in action! It would not bother me...but it would my hubby. Men are really funny aren't they? Thanks for sharing this sweet story!

Debbie and Felicia this story made me laugh and I'm not sure why but reminded me of when my husband and I were first married. He also is picky about people messing with his food. Anyway, he has six younger brothers and sisters and after we were married I was always feeding everybody and no one ever helped me clean up the mess. I was too young to say much...I just fumed! One night I went to play bridge...I was six months pregnant with our first child and we lived in a little apartment. We had a lab puppy that relieved himself on our very small patio and I would pooper scoop it and dispose of it. I left the scooper on the edge of the fence outside. Anyway, my husband has all his brothers and sisters over for burgers and when I get home at 11pm there is an unbelievable mess in my tiny kitchen. I was so angry...I did say something to my husband and of course he was asleep and I started cleaning up. What to my surprise do you think I found in the kitchen sink? I walked into the bedroom and asked my sleeping husband why this was in the kitchen sink and he said "Oh, I found it on the patio and used it to flip the hamburgers." Well, I laughed all the way through the clean-up and finally told all my sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws years later after they were all married. It still makes me laugh! So, you see, your baby drinking a little water couldn't possibly hurt, could it? Barbara and Annie
