Electric Nail Groomer
by Janine
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Electric Nail GroomerHas anyone used the electric nail groomer ? What do you think about it ?

DISCUSSION:

Hi Janine,I am a manicurist. I do not recommend using a electric file. I do not even recommend a "New" manicurist using them unless they have been properly trained. They are much to hard to controll. I never use a electric file on natural nails, only artificial nails. I would be afraid you would drill to low, and hurt the babies nails. I could not imagine what my kids would do if I even tried to go near them with one. (Very fast, and very noisy.)Just one Gal's opinion!! Thank you

Janie: They are scary to use. Shayna has a long coat and I got some of her long ear hair caught in it once. The machine stopped itself, but I was about to panic. I wrap her in a towel if I use the machine on her and never do the rear nails with it. Mostly they are kept short because of walking outside. Read on this forum once someone got their dogs tail caught and it has to be partly removed. Be very careful.

Janine, someone once posted a message here about using the electric file on their Maltese. It was probably at least a year ago, maybe longer, and I don't remember who it was. What I DO remember is that the file got away from them and they were absolutely guilt-ridden because they had hurt the little one. So I think I would stay away from them if it were me.

Thanks everyone. I haven't bought one yet. Wanted to hear your critics first. You saved me 50 bucks.
