I'm no longer trained!
by Dottie
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
I'm no longer trained! All the time I've had Tasha, I have been trained, meaning, I would take her out to doher business. Well she finally got it together and now scratches at my leg to go out, and actually does her business. She's been soooooo good about potty training, never did anything in the crate. She would have her accidents in the house{ so this is where I was trained} Hopefuly she now knows to scratch at me to go out, she certainly knows to bark for a yummy. She turned 8mos. last week. Do I dare let her at of the crate at night to sleep with me, or cool it for awhile? I'm just so excited that she let me know she had to go out.

DISCUSSION:

I can't say for sure about your puppy, but my Arthur is almost 4 months old, and he is crate trained. Occasionally he will wake up at night and I will put him in bed with me. He has NEVER done anything in the bed, just like the crate. Could just be my dog, but it seems to me that as long as the puppy knows that the bed is for sleeping you should have no trouble. Good luck!

Dottie, I think you should give it a try. My Buster is 10 months old today. I have been letting him sleep with us for the past 2 months. Buster was paper trained and has done great. Now I don't even have the papers down. He gets the full run of the house now but with close supervision. He also barks at me and goes to the door when he needs to potty. So yes, give it a try. Our babies are growing up!

Dottie, Eight Months sounds like the perfect time to me. From what you say Tasha sounds ready to sleep in your bed. Go For It! and Good Luck!
