more than one Maltese
by Kathy Sharpe
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
more than one Maltese I have an 11 month old male named Wickett. My husband suprised me with the statement "I want Wickett to have a playmate". Advise would be helpful on the pros & cons and also on the "how to's" Thanks!!

DISCUSSION:

Can I have your hubby? (just kidding) My hubby won't let me have another Malt .... yet. I am still working on him. He thinks one dog is enough. Says who? I'd say GO FOR IT!!!!!!! You lucky woman!

Two maltese are double the fun, double the work, but double the love.

I've had 2 maltese for 10 years and have loved every minute of it. I wouldn't have I any other way. In fact, we just got an 8 month old shih-tzu last September and they're all having a great time together. If you can do it, go for it!

Kathy, I agree with Vickie, two maltese are double the fun, double the work and expense, but double the love. It took me 3 years to convince my husband that we need a friend for Munchkin. You are so lucky. Have a great day!

Had to add my 2 cents worth. I adopted my second Maltese last June. I have two females and I adore both of them; however, they are not crazy about each other and sometimes get into terrible spats. Both are extremely possessive and jealous although I try hard to show no favoritism and show equal attention to both. I wish there was a way to get them to like each other better.
