PARSIPPANY, NJ- The 24th annual Maltese National Specialty show was held at the Holiday Inn, September 5th and 6th in Parsippany, NJ. The Show chairperson was Claudia Grunstra. The Sweeps were on September 5th, with Mr. Dee Shepherd judging a total of 96 entries. The Grand Sweepstakes winner was C and M's Rascal's Of Mist Wood, owned by Carole Thomas and Mary Day.

On Wednesday, September 6th, Mrs. Dorothy Welsh judged the entry of 160 Maltese. Winner's Dog and Best of Winners was Di-Ell's Puddin, owned by Eleanor Mergot. The Winner's Bitch was Marshay's Tara Of Ring Masters owner/handled by Phyllis Moore. The Best of Opposite Sex went to Jack and Joan Round's CH Round Robin's One Man Show handled by Jack Round. Best of Breed went to CH Two Be's Hooked On Sugar, owned by Betty Eaton and Billie Edwards. She was handled by Pat Keen.

Other highlights included, Breeder of the Year going to Mary Purvis (6 of her Maltese becoming Champions in 1988). Voted as "Outstanding Member of 1988" was Vicki Abbott.
