Man charged in Maltese dog theft

December 22, 2007, 6:50 am [ Category: Maltese Dog News ] Matthew Anderson, 21, of Uniondale, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, Suffolk police said. While driving near the intersection of Trescott Street and Straight Path, Anderson picked up a Maltese dog that was running loose, police said. A witness said she told Anderson she thought she knew who owned the dog, but Anderson kept the dog and gave it to his girlfriend, police said. Second Squad detectives found the dog, named Jewelz, at the girlfriend's home in Wyandanch and returned the animal to Gina Griffin of Underset Court in Dix Hills. [ Send To Friend ]
