I was given a couple of recipes for treats that I thought I'd share (I haven't made them myself yet so if any of you try them, let me know if they are gobbled down or ignored)
Bow-Wow BonBons
3/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup nonfat dry milk
1 egg
6 oz lamb baby food
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Mix all ingredients together and drop by teaspoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 min or until browned. Store in fridge or freeze.
Liver Treats
1 lb chicken or beef liver
1 cup flour
3/4 cup corn meal
1 tsp garlic powder
Mix in blender or food processor with 1/4 cup water. Spread mixture evenly on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 20-30 min. Cut into desired-size pieces while still warm. Store in fridge or freeze.
And finally, a simple "birthday cake" recipe. Make a batch of Jiffy cornbread according to package directions, add a pound of raw pureed liver (puree in food processor/blender). Pour into a greased, floured cake pan and bake.
Happy cooking moms and dads and happy eating to all the little white fluff balls. Love from Lucy and me.
DISCUSSION:
Your liver treats were a hit but the bow wow bon bons were turned down. I can put liver in anything and Freckles will probably gobble it up in a second. Thanks your recipes!!
