Does the Maltese have a proclivity toward any special health problems? Example: the dachsie, back problems.
DISCUSSION:
Sharon, I posted a message a while ago re: Shaking Puppy Syndrome, which my male,Travis had. I read and was also told by Travis' Neurologist, that it is found in dogs with white coats. I also posted a comment re: cataracts, my female Harlee Dee had double cataract surgery at a uncommonly early age. But these are only my experiences, and I would beg, steal and borrow to keep my "babies" healthy.

Sharon,
My vet told me to keep a close eye on Lucy's teeth. She says these little guys are prone to having more problems with tartar and suggested regular (by the vet) teeth cleaning. Also, if you look through the archives, you will see some posts with folks asking health questions and some responses that indicate which things your maltese could be a little more susceptible to.
