Maybe if you tell your city, people can refer you to a vet that is not so insecure.
A really good vet, recognizes his or her limitations and that they are not all knowing or perfect. My vet has referred me to other vets for second opinions or whatever. He has also told me on occasion when he has wanted to consult with another vet on something. A good vet is more concerned with the treatment and proper care of the animal rather than on his or her ego.
So, as I stated, I would tell the vet: "yes, fine, if you react that way to my wanting to be informed and discuss things and have a say in my loved one's care, then I think you are right and I will take my loved one, whom I want to have the best care possible to another vet."
Then you post a message on here asking for references for a vet in the
city in which you live. I can give you a great one in Denver, CO and
everyone I have referred to Dr. O, absolutely thinks he is the greatest.
