wants in bathtub

My maltese is acting a little strange lately? She keeps jumping into the bathtub and is drinking the water(drops) if there happens to be any from someone getting a shower. She does this numerous time throughout the day. When I get out of the shower she actually whines outside the bathroom door wanting to get in to get the water drops. She has fresh water and cold water always. Does anyone elses maltese behave this way? She is 8 years old and just started doing this a few months ago.

• Our two year old Maltese loves to go inside the shower after someone has used it. She likes to lick the water drops off the shower door and floor. She also has plenty of cold water available at any time. Go figure!!! She does not attempt to get into the bathtub, although we do not use it as frequently.

• Cescie, my 8 mo. old Maltese has a fetish for the bathtub, shower, and any water (soapy or clean) associated with them. She also objects to the door being shut, not allowing her to enter as she wishes to the bathroom whenever I am in there. Cescie, will get into the tub or shower, whichever I am in, drink water, soapy or fresh. It could be they just want to be where you are and drinking the water where you are shows bonding to you. Although, any dog cannot resist a good drink out of a hose when offered, whether thristy or not. I really think it is their way of showing us they are in control and can go wherever they want and the drinking is just reflex or a dogs way of checking things out that you are doing. I'd rather she be a little pest at times, than not care what I do at all.

• My dog has been doing this since she was a very young puppy, and enjoys drinking drops of water from the shower whenever she can. I too, keep fresh water in her bowl at all times, but she seems to prefer the shower droplets.
