New Maltese is cry baby

I just got a new Maltese pup. Shes only 9 weeks old and I love her to pieces. One problem I'm having though is if I leave her for 1 minute, she starts crying her eyes out. When I return, shes fine again. She has to sleep with me too or she'll cry all night. Any suggestions? Is this normal?

• Until your puppy gets used to sleeping without the warmth of her mother and litter mates, a hot water bottle or an electric heating pad may be enough to stimulate her warmth. A loud ticking alarm clock will sometime distract a puppy from crying also.
